Aspen Ski Vacations – Visit The Mecca Of Ski Resorts

Gently poised over the cultural city of Aspen, the magnificent Aspen Mountain of Colorado has long been known as the flagrant playpen of the rich and famous. Individuals such as Michael Douglas, Jack Nicholson, Martina Navratilova, Goldie Hawn, Kevin Costner, and Mariah Carey are known for their residences in this historical area. A shrine has been set up in Aspen for the famous people by visitors and interested parties, to show honor to those who have died. These people, both dead and alive, are very much the reason Aspen is so fascinating to visitors, in addition to the skiing. The excitement of possible “rubbing elbows” or catch a glimpse of them makes causes Aspen to be more of a mecca to visit than the other ski resorts. To plan an Aspen ski vacation during Christmas in the beautiful mountains of Colorado at the most elegant of skiing accommodations is a plus in anyone’s hat. If a person books this resort, more than any of them over the Christmas holidays, the “Shining Mountains” will make dreams turn into the wildest of imaginations.

Appealing to an assortment of diversified life styles, this enthusiastic city attracts innate individuals, ranging from the most physically active to the cultural and highly intellectual. Attractions such as the Wheeler Opera House, the Krabloonik Dogsled Rides, Ashcroft Ghost Town, Silver Queen Gondola, and the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, are just a few of the winter attractions that may be enjoyed, with an equal amount of fun for the spring and summer. For all seasons, with a luxurious atmosphere beyond the norm, over 100 restaurants are available for the palette, ranging from Italian cuisine at “Campo de Fioir” to the Pan-Asian “Kenichi”.

Recognized since 1950 for its skiing potential by world class skiers, Aspen Mountain first sanctioned the international competition in the U.S. Having a top elevation of 11,215 feet and a vertical drop of 3,269 feet, the famous Aspen Mountain has emerged as one of the most popular skiing destinations, along with snowboarding. Available are 76 trails that are suitable for beginners, intermediates, and experts. These trails are accessible by eight lifts, including seven chair lifts and one cable car line, with lots of crowds and lift lines on the slopes.

If you don’t know how to ski, do not worry as you will be more than welcome. Ski instructions and equipment rental are always abundant in Aspen, for those who are adventurous enough to want to learn.

Big Sky Ski Vacations – One Of The Big Guns Of Ski Resorts

When a person thinks of Montana, they think of wide open spaces, cowboys, and cattle. But we may want to rethink this theory when the Big Sky Resort comes to mind. Big Sky Resort consists of Moonlight Basin and Lone Peak, located in southwest Montana, with an annual snowfall of over 400 inches. Located between Bozeman and Yellowstone National Park, it has over 3,600 acres of the most extraordinary terrain even seen, for an unsurpassed skiing experience possible. Many enjoyable recreations are available at Big Sky Ski Resort, other than cowboys and cattle. Many recreational opportunities can be found in Montana’s abundant wildlife and western hospitality, along with other Boyne U.S.A. Resorts to visit, such as the Boyne Mountain, Boyne Highlands, Brighton, Crystal, Cypress, The Inn at Bay Harbor, and the Gatlinburg Skylift. To appreciate Big Sky, its history and rich legend needs to be appreciated at its fullest.

Enjoying the Big Sky ski vacations, guests now have the option of purchasing a joint-lift ticket which allows them unlimited access to both Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin. They can enjoy the largest skiing area in America, with over 5,500 acres of snow-covered terrain, consisting of wide-open groomed runs, glades and steep chutes, and powder-filled bowls. If time allows, take the Lone Peak Tram to Big Sky’s summit, for viewing of three states, two national parks, and countless mountain ranges which include the Tetons. It is no wonder Montana is widely known for its wide open slopes and short lift lines.

Having a top elevation of 11,166 feet and a vertical drop of 4,250 feet, Big Sky Ski Resort has one of the largest lift-served vertical drops in the United States. It also has over 23 lifts, 220 trails, and two cable car lines available. Over 5,300 acres of ski slopes and trails await eager skiers, with over 33 feet of snowfall each season. While there are beginner slopes, most of the slopes are geared toward intermediate and expert skiers.

At Big Sky, there are no strangers. Considered one of the highest-rated ski resorts in the United States, our main focus here is family. Activities such as Snowsports School to Kid’s Club, along with nightly movies, are combined with games, marshmallow roasts, and more – for every paying adult, two children under ten will be allowed in free at Big Sky Resort. Remember, there is always something at Big Sky for everyone, so come on out and enjoy the Western hospitality you have only heard about!
